Kiladze is a cryovolcano

#shorts #water ice spectral properties #team #space volcano #surface composition A team of planetary scientists think they may have found a super volcano on Pluto after studying images from New Horizons’ flyby of the dwarf planet in 2015. Looking at a crater called Kiladze, they determine that it is likely the caldera of a supervolcano. While space volcanos are generally cool, a cryovolcano, or ice volcano, is a more fun type of space volcano. On other icy dwarf planets, such as Europa and Charon, scientists have found signs of similar cryovolcanoes . The new study is published on pre-print server arXiv.
