Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company Neuralink gets FDA approval to launch its first human clinical study.
This means actual humans could soon be getting implants in their heads.
The company previously received approval for a European trial in which they implanted a device into a patient’s head, but the FDA has denied an early 2022 Neuralink application for human trials, apparently outlining “dozens of issues” the company needed to address.
This represents Elon Musk finally getting to attach a device to a human brain.
It also represents a major step toward bringing his proposed technology to the human body.
μMore news: The FDA has again rejected an earlier 2022 Neuralinks application forHuman trials, according to Reuters, citing unspecified issues.
