JWST Discovers New Mysteries in the Cassiopeia A Supernova Remnant!

#shorts #NIRCam #MIRI #light #Cassiopeia A. Yo, check it out! The James Webb Space Telescope has been studying the most recent supernova remnant in our galaxy, and it has found some crazy stuff. For example, it discovered a giant cosmic mirror that we had never seen before. This mirror is located about 170 light-years behind the supernova remnant, and it was created when the explosion’s light warmed a patch of dust so that it radiated at near-infrared wavelengths. The JWST also found some mysterious bubbles or holes in the remnant that are thought to be due to the supernova debris pushing through and sculpting gas left behind by the star before it exploded. This is some amazing stuff, and it just goes to show how cool the JWST is.
