Giant Underwater Mountain Discovered Off Guatemala’s Coast

The colossal seamount is over 1,600 meters high and covers an area of 14 square kilometers. It’s located 2,400 meters below sea level off the coast of Guatemala. Researchers are excited about the discovery because it shows how much we have yet to explore in the ocean. They hope to map the entire seafloor by the end of this decade.
