Brave announced that it is no longer using Microsoft’s Bing search engine for its web searches, having removed all API calls to Bing.
The decision was made in response to an unprecedented price increase from Microsoft.
Brave Search will now solely rely on its own index, although users can choose to mix in Google search results as a fallback.
Brave is also encouraging users to opt into its Web Discovery Project and Goggles tool to help build and shape its index.
