Data scientist Izzy Miller created an AI group chat which he named the robo boys by training a leaked AI model on 500,000 messages downloaded from his group iMessage. The system was able to replicate the mannerisms and knowledge of the group, creating a window into the past. Miller’s project demonstrated just how easy it has become to build this sort of AI system and the power these systems can wield. He found that the joy came from having the fake conversation with the bot and then grounding that in reality.
