Consider this: Titanoboa, a member of the Boidae family, was a giant snake that lived during the Paleocene epoch in South America. It was thought to be around 12 to 14.3 meters (42-47 feet) long and estimated to weigh over a tonne. In fact, it was the top predator in the tropical South American jungle where it lived. Its enormous body fills the niche left by the extinction of the Dinosaurs.
