Spotify’s AI music problem: bots love it

Artificial streaming, or bot listening isn’t new.

But now a lot of music companies are experimenting with it.

The first big test case came last week when Spotify removed tens of thousands of songs created and uploaded to Spotify by an AI music generator called Boomy.

There are more than 100 million songs on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Spotify, and many are rarely, if ever, played.

So, more money for songs listened to by bots can mean that less is sent to those with human fans.

Human artists have already been caught up in artificial streaming scandals, but now AI is adding a new element.

This could be a problem for musicians who rely on machine-learning to help them reach new audiencesMillennia ago, corporations like General Motors and Du Pont had invested heavily in research into electric cars.

Now they’re trying to find out whether or not these cars can run on electricity without putting people out of work.
