Pushes back against Elon Musk, says Twitter situation is ‘very frustrating’
Substack, a popular subscription newsletter platform for writers, launched a new feature called Notes last week. Elon Musk responded with a claim that Substack was “trying to download a massive portion of the Twitter database to bootstrap their Twitter clone” without any evidence. In response, Substack CEO Chris Best wrote a post on Notes stating that they had used the Twitter API for years and were in compliance with the terms of service. Best also noted the impact this situation had on individual small business owners.
