This just in: the IRS is comin’ after Microsoft for a whopping $29 billion in unpaid taxes from over a decade ago. Ya hate to see it. Apparently there’s some disagreement over how Microsoft split up its profits internationally. Microsoft says they’ve cleaned up their act, but the taxman ain’t convinced. They’re ready to slap on those penalties and interest fees like a parking enforcement officer. Microsoft thinks they can knock off up to $10 bil through other tax law stuff. But either way, it ain’t lookin’ pretty for our nerdy friends in Redmond. The SEC filing said they’re ready to duke it out in court, so stay tuned for more awkward forced laughter as this painfully boring saga continues.
