Google plans to add end-to-end encryption to its Authenticator app

Google Authenticator recently updated its two-factor authentication feature to enable users to sync codes with their Google accounts, making it easier to sign into new devices.

However, security researchers have raised concerns over the lack of end-to-end encryption, which could leave users vulnerable to data breaches and other third parties accessing their information.

Google has acknowledged the issue and announced plans to add end-to-end encryption in the future.

Until then, users are advised to not use the syncing feature.
