Google Authenticator has now added the ability to sync two-factor authentication codes to a user’s Google account, so that when a new device is set up and logged into, Authenticator will be ready to go.
This makes it easier to access accounts in the event of a lost or stolen phone.
The update also increases convenience and security for users and services.
To enable cloud syncing, users must update to the latest version of the Authenticator app.
While this feature increases convenience, it could also make Google accounts more susceptible to malicious actors.
