Giant Planets Go Kablooey, Make Big Dust Cloud

#shorts #scinews #science news #science #science max #planets #collision #infrared #dust #cloud #star #telescope #ice #orbit #moon Good evening, I’m your Weekend Update anchor Guy Notjost here with an astronomical story for the ages. Scientists spotted two big planets go kablooey out in space, making a huge dust cloud. They saw the star get real bright in infrared, then get dimmer in regular light later as the dust floated by. Looks like couple of giant icy planets crashed into each other near the star, blew up real good, and made a new planet out of the wreckage. The dust will spread out over time like a comet trail. Pretty wild stuff, almost makes you feel bad for those poor planets. Scientists are excited to keep watching this cosmo-catastrophe unfold. Back to you, Guy.
