Franklin Templeton, one of the world’s largest investment managers, files an application with the SEC to list a Bitcoin-linked ETF on the Cboe BZX Exchange.
The company will use CF Benchmarks Index, a leading provider of cryptocurrency benchmark indices, for BTC prices and to prevent any potential price manipulation.
This latest entry in the bitcoin ETF race adds new momentum and urgency to the ongoing movement for bitcoin ETF approvals, says Alex Adelman, co-founder of the Bitcoin rewards app, Lolli.
Adelman tells Cryptonews that the filing “amplifies Grayscale’s recent victory against the SEC.”
Earlier this week, the price of bitcoin rose 2.6% against the dollar.
