DDoS Attacks on Gaming Industry by Dark Frost Botnet

A new botnet called Dark Frost has been observed launching distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against the gaming industry.

The targets include gaming companies, game server hosting providers, online streamers, and even other gaming community members with whom the threat actor has interacted directly.

According to ThreatPost, Dark Frost represents the latest iteration of a botnet that appears to have been stitched together by stealing source code from various botnet malware strains such as Mirai, Gafgyt, and QBot.

Although not the most advanced or mind-bending adversary, the Dark Frost botnet has still managed to accumulate hundreds of compromised devices to do its bidding.

It continues, Botnets are usually made up of a vast network of disconnected devices around the world.

Dark Frost is one such example.
