Zero-Day Alert: Latest Android Patch Update Includes Fix for Newly Actively Exploited Flaw

Google has released a set of patches for Android that address a number of security flaws, including one called CVE-2023-35674, which the company describes as a case of privilege escalation.

It’s a zero-day bug that can be exploited in the wild.

Google also addresses three other privilege escalation flaws in the Framework, the company says.

In total, Google has fixed 14 vulnerabilities in the System module and two shortcomings in the MediaProvider component.

The company says that the patches will be delivered as an update to the Google Play Store starting on September 2023; they will be available as an individual app or as a Google Play system update beginning on September 21st.[/gallery ]
