X (Twitter) to Collect Biometric Data from Premium Users to Combat Impersonation

In an effort to combat fraud and impersonation, Twitter.X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, has updated its privacy policy to collect users’ biometric data to prevent fraud and imposters.

The company claims that this new feature will help it fight impersonation attempts and make the platform more secure.

According to the privacy policy, X may collect and use your biometric information for safety, security, and identification purposes.

This includes, but is not limited to, public data, not DMs or anything private.

Musk later confirms that this change covers just public data, but does not include any of Musk’s personal data .Bloomberg first reported the news of this privacy change.

In a statement, Twitter tells Bloomberg that the change will affect premium users only.
