The Dogger Bank offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea recently started generating electricity, marking progress for the world’s largest wind farm still under construction. With a capacity of 3.6 GW upon completion in 2026, Dogger Bank will have over 275 huge turbines across an area of 8660 square kilometers. The UK government has praised the project as boosting energy security and moving towards net zero carbon emissions, although PM Sunak still faces criticism on climate action. Dogger Bank is named after an ancient land bridge flooded at the end of the last ice age, where archaeologists have found human artifacts.
