Some companies are trying to use the signals from your Wi-Fi router to spy on you and your neighbors.

For example, a team of computer scientists at Carnegie Mellon University has developed a system that uses machine learning to create 3D maps of people using just WiFi signals.

Sounds geeky, we know.

But the point is that this technology could be used to track people’s movement and even read text through walls.

A similar company, over at the University of California Santa Barbara, has demonstrated another technique called Wi-Fi scanning.

They can use this technology to trace the edges
