According to reports, Google is laying off employees at Waze.
The company is moving the popular traffic navigation app over to Google’s ads system, which will mean cuts to positions in sales, marketing, operations and analytics.
CNBC has asked Bourdeau for details about how many employees will be laid off.
Google says in an email to employees that it is transitioning Waze to Google Ads technology.
It is providing employees with mobility resources and severance options in accordance with local requirements.
Waze has more than 500 employees according to its head honcho Chris Phillips.
