This past Thursday, we learn that Valve has taken a step further than just banning games with AI-generated content on Steam.
It has rejected a submission from a Redditor named Potterharry97.
Earlier in the month, another game dev penned a similar post, asking for permission to publish a game with artificial intelligence in its art assets.
Steam, of course, denies their request.
Why?
Because the game contains art assets generated by artificial intelligence that appears to be relying on copyrighted material owned by third parties.”
See, even though Valve says it doesn’t want to, it’s taking away the creative freedom of developers who want to make use of this kind of technology.
Take that, Bethesda and LucasArts.
