TikTok has a new way for creators to indicate whether or not their posts contain AI-generated content.
It’s called the AI Generated Content toggle and it appears next to the “more options” section when uploading a video.
When you flip the toggle, it shows you a pop-up explaining that you’ll need to label content made by AI that shows realistic scenes and warns that it may take down content if it isn’t labeled properly.
We don’t know if we like this feature as much as we thought we might, but it’s definitely a step up on the list of things TikTok has been trying to support creators in the past.
Last month, we covered how tricky it was to get TikTok to require videos to include disclosures about features like deepfakes and AI in their caption or using an identifying sticker, but now the company has a special box that you can flip to see more information about this kind of labeling.
