Quiet quitting is an increasingly popular term for employees who want to take a break from the workday.
Now, new research has identified a curious link between the use of psilocybin, from magic mushrooms, and a reduction in working overtime among employees.
Benjamin A. Korman, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Konstanz, studies whether psychedelic drug use affects organizations and the workforce more generally.
Using data from the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, Korman studies whether or not use of this hallucinatory substance leads employees to work fewer hours.
On the whole, it does not.
However, once other confounding factors are accounted for, the association becomes negative.
