In a partnership with the Celo Blockchain, Opera announced plans to launch a new non-custodial wallet called MiniPay in partnership with its browser.
It will allow users in Africa to purchase, sell, buy, and trade stablecoins using just a phone number.
This isn’t the first time Opera has made such a foray into Web3, though; back in January, the browser maker unveiled a beta version of its non-cursodial wallet.
In fact, it’s been making strides in this space for quite some time: Since then, Opera has been pushing forward in the Web3 space with different partnerships and launching different features.
The idea behind the launch of the wallet is to make it easier for Africans to make secure transactions using stablecoins.
