OpenAI has launched a bug bounty program to encourage members of the public to find and disclose vulnerabilities in their AI services including ChatGPT. Rewards range from $200 for “low-severity findings” to $20,000 for “exceptional discoveries”. Jailbreaking ChatGPT is excluded from rewards, as OpenAI states that these “model safety issues do not fit well within a bug bounty program” and should be submitted via their model feedback page. Last month, a hacker revealed 80 “secret plugins” for the ChatGPT API, which was patched within a day after they disclosed it on Twitter.
