New Python Variant of Chaes Malware Targets Banking and Logistics Industries

A new version of a malware called Chaes has come out that’s specifically targeted e-commerce customers in Latin America.

It even works better than the original version and Morphisec describes it this way: The malware uses Google’s DevTools Protocol to connect to the current browser instance, the company said.

Supercharge Your SkillsThe Chronod module introduces another component used in the framework, a component called Module Packer.

This method involves altering all shortcut files (LNK) associated with web browsers.

To do this, you have to update all the shortcut files in LNKs for browsers that have the following names: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Avast Secure BrowserChaes.

This allows the malware to execute from the registry instead of the actual browser.
