MSI, a Taiwanese PC company, has officially confirmed that it was the victim of a cyber attack on its systems.
The company has taken incident response and recovery measures and alerted law enforcement agencies.
They have also set up enhanced controls of its network and infrastructure to secure data.
Additionally, a new ransomware gang known as Money Message has added MSI to its list of victims, utilizing a double extortion technique that involves exfiltrating and encrypting the victim’s data.
This follows Acer’s breach last month where 160 GB of confidential data was stolen.
