Microsoft is testing a background removal tool in Paint

In this very brief video, Microsoft demonstrates a new tool it is testing for its Paint program.

It allows you to remove the background from an image by pressing a background removal button on the toolbar.

You can drag and drop text into an image and it will automatically detect the subject of the image and cut away the background.

Microsoft notes that you can also manually select the portion of the background that you want to remove.

Here’s hoping that this works well and convinces the company to add it to other Paint features such as Nightlyx or AutoCoder.

In the meantime, we’re going to enjoy our test of the new tool while it lasts.
