Microsoft is changing the Print Screen key to open its Snipping Tool on Windows 10
Microsoft is changing the default behavior of the Print Screen (Prt Scr) key in Windows 11 from capturing an image of the entire screen and copying it to the Clipboard to opening Microsoft’s own Snipping Tool. This change will come with the KB5025310 update, however, if a user has previously modified the option in Settings, Windows 11 will keep the setting they chose. Print Screen has always been in need of an overhaul, especially for multi-monitor setups, and third-party apps have attempted to intercept and use the button over the years.
