Aleph Alpha has raised $27 million to date, and expects to raise more money in the coming weeks.
Skeptics question whether the company can really compete in the same league as Google and OpenAI, whose ChatGPT launched the current boom in generative AI.But many in the European Union are hoping that Aleph Alpha can counteract American dominance in what some believe will be an era-defining technology.
Andrulis stresses that his company is not a nationalist project and that there are Americans working at AlephAlpha, but overall, he appears comfortable being at Europe’s vanguard.
He set up Alephalpha in Heidelberg, a city in southwestern Germany.
Two years later, Aleph Alphas has already raked in over US$27 million.
