An updated version of the botnet malware called Kmsdbot targets IoT devices.
It has been updated with features such as Telnet scanning and a random IP address generator.
The new updates also improve upon the previous versions by covering more CPU architectures and expanding the attack surface.
Cashdollar explains that the campaign demonstrates that IoT devices remain prevalent and vulnerable on the internet, making them attractive targets for building a network of infected systems, he said.
