The Russian Financial Stability Board and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have issued a joint policy roadmap on cryptocurrencies.
In it, they recommend against blank bans on cryptocurrencies as they could Force Crypto Activities to Become Illegal.
Instead, they suggest that countries should consider tottering with targeted restrictions.
They warn that implementing a blanket ban would make all crypto activities illegal within a jurisdiction.
While blanket bans may not be advisable, they do not rule out the possibility of temporary restrictions being imposed to manage specific risk factors during times of stress or while finding internal solutions.
