Ten years ago this month, the iPhone 5S launched.
It was the first iPhone model to feature Touch ID, a fingerprint recognition feature that allowed users to quickly unlock the device with a single tap of the home button.
Today, most phones have fingerprint scanners, face irons, and other types of security features such as PINs.
But back then, it was different.
Passcodes were really only used to prevent people butt-dialing or stealing your phone, not to protect your sensitive information.
With the introduction of the iPhone five s, Apple changed all that.
iPhones now offer passcodes for protection, but it’s actually more of a nuisance than anything else.
Back then, I had to tap my four-digit code into whatever model I was using every time I wanted to check my phone, and considering I was a teenager in the early 2010s, I checked my phone a lot.
The average person unlocked their phone 110 times each day, and I certainly surpassed that
