Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a secure way to protect online accounts by requiring an authentication code when somebody tries to access the account.
Google Authenticator is a popular 2FA app, and it now has a feature that allows users to easily sync their codes to any device signed in to their Google account.
It is possible to use the app without syncing, but this requires a user to export their accounts via a QR code, use backup codes, or take a screenshot of the barcode.
