Political advertisers will soon start requiring political ads to disclose when they made their ads with AI, as previously reported by Bloomberg.
Google says these types of ads must contain a disclaimer in a clear and conspicuous place and will apply to all video, images, and audio content.
Some political campaigns are already using AI to create ads.
In April, the Republican National Committee released an attack ad containing AI-generated images that target President Joe Biden’s bid for reelection.
Google says these kinds of ads should contain a disclaimers in a ‘clear and conspicuous’ place.
It does not affect ads that have no extraneous or inconsequential’ tweaks such as brightening an image, background edits or removing red eye with AI.
