Google to Phase Out Third-Party Cookies Starting in 2024

Google officially flips the switch on its Privacy Sandbox initiatives and says it’s going to start phasing out third-party cookies in Chrome browser starting in the first quarter of 2024.

That’ll be about a year later.

Google says it’ll eventually turn off support for these cookies completely by the second half of 2024, but it could change its mind if community feedback and stakeholder discussions are valuable.

We’re not really sure where that’s coming from, but we’ll wait until we hear from them.

In the meantime, though, you can test Google’s new privacy suite on Android phones running Android 13.

Earlier this February, Google began testing Privacy Suite on Android in beta to eligible mobile devices running Android 7.1.
