Generating Change: A Global Survey of What Newsrooms Are Doing With

A new survey of newsrooms across 46 countries shows how newsrooms are using artificial intelligence in different fields, including journalism.

Some of the newsrooms have published AI articles riddled with errors or offensive suggestions.

There’s widespread anxiety that they’ll use it to replace journalists on the cheap.

But a new survey demonstrates how much this technology is already being used in the business, even as journalists worry about its implications.

The report is published this week by JournalismAI, an initiative from Polis, the London School of Economics and Political Science’s journalism think tank, supported by the Google News Initiative.

It surveys more than 120 editors, journalists, technologies and mediamakers from 105 small and large newsrooms worldwide.
