Valkyrie Investments is one of several issuers that offer crypto-related ETFs, building on its existing Bitcoin mining ETF.
The firm plans to offer both Bitcoin and Ethereum futures trading on its exchange traded fund.
The SEC approval marks a step toward the maturation of the crypto market in the U.S. Valkyrie’s chief investment officer, Steven McClurg, says in an interview with Fox Business that the company is pleased with the decision.
He also notes that the SEC has been hesitant to approve this type of ETF due to regulatory concerns.
In October 2021, the SEC will allow trading of Bitcoin ETFs priced off futures contracts.
