Researchers discovered a new ‘dragon lizard’ species perfectly camouflaged in the limestone karsts of Laos. With slate gray scales and rough texture mimicking the rocks, only 2 have ever been found. At just 3.9 inches long, they blend into the light and shadows. The location and swollen tail base identify the Khammouan Karst Dragon.
