The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is taking Coinbase to court over allegations that the exchange has sold unregistered securities.
Despite the court case, Coinbase continues to advocate for pro-crypto policies in the United States.
It has started a paid media campaign in Washington, DC, encouraging people interested in crypto to contact their representatives through its platform.
It’s also planning a special event called a fly-in where crypto companies will meet with congressional staff and lawmakers.
The company spent around $3.39 million on lobbying during the 2022 election cycle, according to OpenSecrets, more than any other crypto enterprise.
Last month, Coinbase took its advocacy work a step further by establishing a non-profit organization named Stand With Crypto.
