Lookout has discovered a new Android spyware that can spy on over 300 people belonging to minority groups.
The malware, dubbed BouldSpy, is reportedly associated with the Law Enforcement Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran (FARAJA) and it can even run on older devices.
It has some interesting features, such as the ability to run code sent from a remote server, receive commands through SMS messages, and even disable battery management features to prevent the device from terminating the spyware.
Lookout also discovered earlier this month an Android malware called Cyble.md that was used by the Turkish military to spy on citizens of Cyprus.
A lookout reader points out that Bouldspy refers to the same Android malware that Cyble discovered earlier in the month named DAAM.
