Not only have their NFTs plummeted in value, but now they’re getting sunburned and going blind from attending ApeFest in Hong Kong. Apparently, the event used the wrong kind of UV lamp as a backlight, and now several attendees are reporting skin burns, eye pain, and vision loss. One guy said he woke up at 4am unable to see and his skin was burned. He went to the hospital and was diagnosed with photokeratitis. Another attendee said he was in so much pain he ended up in the ER. The organizers of the event said they’re reaching out to those affected and are investigating the cause of the problems.
