Bitcoin Transaction Fees: Bitcoin Transaction Fees

This is a really clever example of a crypto blunder .

A Bitcoin user accidentally pays way more than expected transaction fees to send just $200 worth of currency.

Why?

Well, because he sent over 20 BTC instead of the usual 1 BTC.

Many people are speculating on the reason this happened.

But the most popular explanation comes from Casa chief technology officer and popular Bitcoiner Jameson Lopp who suggests that an automated payment system with buggy software probably made the mistake.

F2Pool, which mined the block that included the transaction, will receive the 20 BTC in fees as a result.

If they remain unclaimed after that, the fee will be distributed among miners in the pool.

The community speculates on reason.
