On Monday there were reports of problems with the App Store, but things seem to have finally been resolved.
Apple pulls in between $70 and $85 billion per year in commissions from developers, so this could be a very significant loss for the company.
Interestingly, staffers outside the US were able to use the App store, despite the apparent outage.
MacRumors reports that some other services were also experiencing issues, including Apple Music and Apple podcasts, but they appear to have resolved.
An estimate using Apple’s own released data figured that, in 2022, Apple pulled in around $70-$85 billion via the AppStore on commissions from app developers alone, so even a brief outage could be costly.
The Verge writers noticing an App Store outage are seeing mostly blank spaces instead of descriptions and screenshots, but it appears to have eventually resolved.
