Apple v. Google: The Case for Apple v. Google

Eddy Cue is in the Washington, DC., courtroom watching the trial of US v. Google.

Cue is a key witness in the case because of the terms of the ISA, the agreement between Google and Apple that makes Google the default search engine on all Apple devices and pays Apple billions of dollars a year.

In the case, the Justice Department is accusing Google of anticompetitive behavior in its dealings with American companies such as Samsung, Mozilla, and many others.

The department argues that these companies conspired together to ensure that only search engines would be the default choice for customers when they first booted up their iPhones.

Cue supports this argument with examples of how he helped set up the iPhone setup process and how it differs from the way most other companies set up their search engines.
