Dhirendra Prasad, a former Apple employee, was sentenced to three years in prison and must pay back over $19 million in restitution after being charged with mail and wire fraud schemes.
Prasad had been employed at the company for 10 years and used his knowledge of Apple’s fraud detection techniques to siphon money from his employer by accepting kickbacks, stealing parts, inflating invoices and fraudulently charging Apple for goods that were never delivered.
He also conspired with the owners of two vendor companies who have also been charged in separate cases.
