Android Malware Evades Detection by Using Stealthy APK Compression

Threat actors are using Android APKs with unknown or unsupported compression methods to elude malware analysis.

The disclosure comes shortly after Google had revealed that malicious actors were using a technique known as version-agnostic ad insertion.

It was discovered that these ads could be installed on devices running versions older than 9.
