Cyble, a security company that develops antivirus solutions for enterprises, has discovered and reported on a new type of Android banking malware called the Gigabud RAT.
According to the company’s research, people in many countries across the world are being targeted by this trojan.
It looks like other Android banking trojans, but it’s able to log keystrokes and requests for accessibility services permissions .
Cyble also discovered a second variant of the malware that doesn’t have the RAT capabilities.
The company warns people who were led into filling out a bank card application form to obtain a low-interest loan, the report says.
We don’t know if this is a jab at banks yet, but we’re going to go with low-interest for now.
